BLUE Stars - December 2014

Building Lasting Unforgettable Experiences...  At WILLCARE, that's what we do best!  We strive to provide exceptional customer service for all our customers, including patients, their families, physicians, vendors, referral sources, and co-workers.  We view every interaction as a chance to leave our customers with positive experiences that they will never forget.

Our BLUE program (short for Building Lasting Unforgettable Experiences of course!) recognizes those WILLCARE team members who've gone above and beyond to provide fantastic customer service.   Once a month, the WILLCARE employees that best embody the spirit of BLUE are selected to be our BLUE Stars.  Learn more about our December 2014 winners below.

Nominate A BLUE Star

Laura Hamberger

Physical Therapist
Buffalo NY Certified Branch

Why She Was Nominated:

WILLCARE received the following letter from a patient's daughter about the care her mother received from Laura Hamberger:  “My mom has lived in a Continuing Care Community for several years. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and we consulted with Laura Hamberger for her physical therapy. Both my mom and I feel extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with Laura, who is truly an exceptional health care professional. Over many years of eldercare, I developed a deep appreciation of those individuals in the medical profession who truly invest themselves in the care they provide to others. Unfortunately, I have too often witnessed the apathy of those who clearly see themselves as performing a task, rather than pursuing a goal of healing, care and comfort - a mission that takes on even greater importance when a cure is not possible. It is in this context that I have come to greatly appreciate Laura Hamberger, not only as an excellent medical practitioner, but also as a holistic health care advocate. I value her enthusiasm, positive energy, and proactive attitude. Laura offers solutions to help my mom adapt to the physical challenges of Parkinson's disease and she shares my commitment to making every day as good as it can be. Whether Laura is urging the aides to regularly walk with my mom or recommending that she sleep on a different type of bed, her seasoned insight and considered recommendations make a tremendous difference to my family. More often than I would like, I have found healthcare professionals falling short of my expectations, so I want to be certain to commend excellence when I experience it. Laura Hamberger stands out as a model of professional compassion and competence.  She has been - and will continue to be - a priceless asset to my family as we care for my mom.”   Selected 12/2014

Laurie Sackett

Home Health Aide
Kingston, NY Licensed Branch

Why She Was Nominated:

WILLCARE received the following nomination from her colleague: “Laurie has been working on a “priority one” case since 2012.  Laurie often works double shifts by going to work early and staying late, many times at a moment's notice. She steps up to the plate and accepts extra shifts when we do not have anyone else to cover, allowing WILLCARE to save the case.  For her dedication and patient focus, Laurie deserves to be recognized.” Selected 12/2014
