New Name For Connecticut Home Health Care

Trumbull CT, March 2014 – Local home health agency Connecticut Home Health Care (CHHC) announced it will officially change its name to WILLCARE.   CHHC joined the WILLCARE family of home health companies in January 2013, but has continued to operate for the past year as a separate entity under its own name.  The new moniker is one of several changes the company will take as it becomes fully integrated into the WILLCARE brand.

“We didn’t want to rush integration,” said Eric Armenat, President and CEO for WILLCARE, “Connecticut Home Health Care has been providing quality home care services for the past 25 years.  Our goal is to carefully blend what makes CHHC successful with what has made WILLCARE successful.  Above all, we want a seamless transition so that the focus remains on patient care.”

WILLCARE is a leading provider of comprehensive home health care including in-home nursing, rehabilitative therapies, home care aides and support services.   Since its founding over thirty years ago, WILLCARE has grown to become a nationally recognized leader in home health care with over 2,000 employees and  14 branch offices in Western New York, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, and Ohio.

“WILLCARE’s outstanding reputation for professionalism and quality, along with a compassionate individualized approach to home care, blends perfectly with our philosophies at Connecticut Home Health Care,” said Alicia Berntsen, Administrator for CHHC.   “We made the decision to join WILLCARE to broaden our home health capabilities, allowing us to better serve our patients.  The past year has been a learning experience for both organizations, and the name change is the next logical step as we move toward full integration,” said Berntsen, “Patients and referral sources will see little change in our operations, with the exception of our new name. ”

The introduction of the new moniker comes on the heels of another major change for CHHC.  They recently moved from their location at 12 Cambridge Drive in Trumbull to a new location at 56 Quarry Drive in Trumbull.  Both the new Trumbull location and CHHC’s satellite office in Norwalk will remain open and operational under the leadership of Berntsen.   These locations join WILLCARE’s existing branches in New Haven, Waterbury, and Wethersfield, and their addition expands WILLCARE’s service area into the southwestern portion of the state.
